What were you doing before you started the Youth.Inc course?
I was working a Saturday job in my local pharmacy.

Why did you choose the Youth.Inc course?
To broaden my options, gain some work experience and obtain a useful qualification that will help me achieve more in the future.

How will your Youth.Inc Apprenticeship help you in the future?
I think that it will help me in any future interviews and jobs that I may go to as it has given me a bigger knowledge and understanding of the workplace.

Did you enjoy the experience offered through your training programme?
Yes, I have learnt a lot and enjoyed the whole experience.

How are you finding your work placement?
I’m finding my placement really enjoyable, beneficial and educational. I feel like I’m learning such a lot.

What do you feel you’ve learnt from the Youth.Inc Apprenticeship programme so far?
I feel that I have learnt many different aspects of customer service roles. For example the correct way to deal with any problems or confusion which may occur in the work place.

Would you recommend the Youth.Inc programme to anybody else?
Yes, I definitely would.

Jane Barber from Excel Marketing Solutions describes her reasons for taking on a youth apprentice: ‘Meeting the candidates, you could see how determined they were to get their careers started and this was a big factor.  Being mercenary, the very low wage payable gave the confidence that shortcomings in their skills would be compensated for’.
